Why we do this for you

Every garage system on the market has an import tool, and almost nobody uses one. Not because the tool is bad, but because moving fifteen years of customers is a proper job, and it never becomes the most urgent thing on a Tuesday afternoon.

So what usually happens is this. You sign up, you type in the customer whose car is in the bay, you have a look round, and then you go back to the system that has everything else in it. There is no second day, and it never really got a fair try.

You cannot judge a system holding two customers. So we do the boring part, and you make the decision on a version of Autera that actually has your workshop in it.

How it works

Send us what you have

A CSV export, a spreadsheet, a backup file, or a photo of the book you keep on the counter. Whatever format it is in, send it as it is. There is nothing to tidy up first.

We do the work

We map it, clean the obvious problems and load it. If something needs a decision only you can make, we ask that day rather than guessing.

You check it

We tell you when it is in and what went where. If a column landed in the wrong place we fix it. You do not start using it until you are happy it is right.

Questions people actually ask

Nothing, on every plan, including the free Solo plan. There is no setup fee and it is not tied to a contract or a minimum term. If you migrate and then decide Autera is not for you, that is the end of it.

One working day from when your file reaches us. Not from when you first ask, and not from when we get round to starting it. A file that arrives on Friday afternoon is loaded by Monday. If it needs a decision from you before we can finish, we tell you the same day rather than letting the clock run.

Any. CSV, Excel, a database backup, a PDF report from your old system, or photographs of paper records. If it is readable, we will work with it. Getting an export out of your current system is the part most people get stuck on, so if you are struggling, send what you can and tell us what you are using.

That is common and it is fine. Photograph or scan what you have and send it over. We will type it in. It takes us longer than a CSV, which is exactly why it should not be your job.

No. You do not need a paid plan, a card on file, or a signed anything. Plenty of garages want to see their own customers in the system before judging whether it works for them, which is a reasonable way round.

You can export everything at any time, and we will help you get it out the same way we helped you get it in. Your records are yours. Nothing about the migration locks you in.

Usually. We have moved data from spreadsheets, paper and other garage management systems. Some systems make exporting easy and some make it deliberately hard. Tell us which one you are on and we will tell you honestly what we can get out of it before you spend any time on it.
